Our behaviour is our responsibility. In our school following the rules and behaving in a positive manner will be rewarded. Good behaviour is essential if we want to have good learning and it is the job of everybody in school to ensure that good behaviour happens. We believe that we should all treat other people as we would like to be treated ourselves.
We have adopted a new behaviour system at Mount Pellon Primary Academy. The new behaviour policy, similar to the current one we use, is based around praising children. The behaviour system has a clear set of consequences which ensures classroom behaviour is managed consistently across the whole academy. The academy day is split into three sessions (two in the morning and one in the afternoon) and each session every child has a fresh start. This gives every child the ability to address any mistakes and start again. Our intention is to teach and guide children to make the right choices. By allowing children time to reflect and rectify mistakes independently they will develop skills in problem solving and have the ability to analyse and manage situations which will help them in later life.
